COVID-19 UPDATE 11/09/20
⚠️ Solihull Riding Club are awaiting further statements to be released from the equestrian governing bodies RE Covid-19 but at present any current restrictions do not affect any sporting activities. All SRC events are still NO spectators. Dressage sheets are emailed out and there are no scoreboards at any events, in order to deter people from congregating in one area. ARRIVE, COMPETE, LEAVE. Nosebag catering will remain open for take away service only and on-site saddlers Horsesense also remain open – Face masks are required for entry to both facilities.
🐴 Please remember to bring a stamped, self addressed envelope if you would like your dressage sheets, rosettes and/or prize vouchers – we are not able to hand out sheets or do prize givings at this difficult time. (You will need an A5 envelope and either a large letter stamp or two regular stamps to ensure your rosette gets delivered).
RE-OPENING UPDATE 29/06/2020
From Monday the 6th of July we are pleased to announce that Solihull Riding Club will be returning to a new version of “normal”.
Clinics and housewives are resuming, the main indoor has been granted for use by BD, staff will be returning part-time and the cross country facilities will slowly be reinstated! This does however mean that hire charges will return to pre-existing rates and all bookings will still only be available via online entries – This includes Housewives, Hire, Clear Round, Evening SJ, Clinics and all competitions. Thank you for your continued patience and support. Exciting times ahead!

FACILITIES UPDATE 15/06/2020
Thank you for your continued support through this challenging time. We are maintaining an optimistic view for the coming weeks in hope to slowly and steadily return to a ‘new normal’ at Solihull Riding Club.
From July onwards, we are looking at restarting housewives, clinics/training and rallies in groups of FIVE riders plus one instructor, making the governments advised total of 6.
We also have the various competitions and events planned throughout July (TBC) and will be updating our calendar shortly.
Entries will be via online entries only and will be available in the next week or two.
Please can we remind those hiring the show jumps to leave the full course set at a reasonable height. We have now had a couple of incidents where all jumps have been taken down to rows of trotting poles, or very small fences, and then left for the next hirer to adjust in their time-slot, which is very unfair.
We look forward to starting the ‘new normal’ at the SRC, as we have all missed using the facilities and seeing you all enjoy training and competitions here.
Stay safe and we are looking forward to a busier summer!
FACILITIES UPDATE 26/05/2020
We are pleased to announce that the outdoor arena will be available to hire from tomorrow! There will be a reduced Coronavirus Concessionary rate to members. Bookings for this will be via online entries only and show jump hire will only be available with an instructor for safety reasons, whilst we are operating on skeleton staff. The office will be closed to visitors and any available facilities will be entirely enter at your own risk. Please bring your own gloves for opening gates/ moving poles. For those who forget, there will be a bucket of disinfectant provided. Online entry link –
We will endeavour to keep you updated as and when anything changes regarding hire of the indoor arena and the resumption of competition. For various reasons it has been a complex procedure to open our facilities and we appreciate your patience in this matter. It has been very difficult to re-open when we have had to furlough staff and we have little income to bring the staff back in, whilst we have no entry fees from competitions.
We have been advised recently of many non-members using our grounds for walking and picnics etc, whilst we are happy for members to enquire to other walkers regarding their membership, it should be done in such a way as to encourage people to be members in the future please, and not in an aggressive manner, thus avoiding any confrontation and encouraging understanding of the club and its rules, which we are sure many of you do already follow. We will be carrying out regular patrols of the grounds and the anti-social behaviour and illegal gatherings have been reported to West Midlands police, who are now regularly attending site.
Please stay safe, we will all get through this together and thank you once again for your patience.
CORONAVIRUS UPDATE 11/05/2020
The BEF have released an update – we are patiently awaiting them and other member bodies on revised guidance around activity but there’s key information to come before we can issue something complete to our riders – please bear with us.
Following the Prime Minister’s statement on Sunday, British Equestrian, in close consultation with British Dressage, British Eventing, British Showjumping and The Pony Club, is awaiting further sport sector-specific guidance from the government and DCMS.
Once we have clarification around what aspects of equestrian activity may be able to resume from Wednesday 13 May, in line with the revisions and taking into consideration regional variations, we will be in a better position to release clear and objective advice for stakeholders across the member bodies. This will be communicated as soon as is practicable, but in the meantime we thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we endeavour to provide the most up-to-date and accurate guidance for all involved in our sector.
CORONAVIRUS UPDATE 24/03/2020
Unfortunately following the government Coronavirus advice and restrictions, SRC have taken the decision to cancel all March and April 2020 bookings, hire, events and competitions.
We would be extremely grateful if anyone is willing or in a position please, to have their entry carried over to a future booking, hire, event or competition.
We would like to thank everyone for their support during this difficult time and will keep everyone up to date during this unpredictable period.
EQUINE FLU UPDATE
Would all riders and competitors please present their horses passport at the office prior to unloading their horse, whether hiring arenas or competing. Horses whose vaccinations are not within the last 12 months will be refused entry to the site.
