On Saturday 25th January we gathered together to recognise some of the outstanding achievements of our members for the 23/24 year.
As a Riding Club, we are always blown away by the lengths our members go to to support the Club, from travelling far and wide to attend Teams competitions, supporting other riding members or giving up their time to volunteer and further the activities of the Club.
Each year, we recognise the achievements of our members through Awards.
This year, the Senior Awards were generously sponsored by long-term Senior Team sponsor Aspen Cooling Ltd, and the Junior Awards were generously supported by one of our key partners 608 Equine and Farm Vets.
Solihull Riding Club would like to say a huge congratulations to all of our worthy winners from the 23/24 season. The winners of our Awards were as follows:
Juniors:
Dressage – Sarra Chaudry

Eventing – Pearl Berryman

Our three Special Awards went to the following members:
Member of the Year – Sophie Wooster
Sophie is a key member of the SRC Senior teams, and is very committed to training and competing with her horse Rafa. Sophie has represented the Club at almost every qualifying competition and National Championship, and is also very engaged with other Club matters and always supports her teammates. Thank you for being such a brilliant member, Sophie!
Volunteer of the Year – Helen Summers
Helen is one of our longest standing members, having previously been a riding member and now enjoying the grounds to walk her dogs. Helen is an exceptional support of Solihull Riding Club through her volunteering – she completed over 100 hours of dressage writing last year. Helen frequently steps in to help the Club last minute, and we are very grateful to her for her ongoing service. Thank you, Helen.
Outstanding Contribution to the Club – Jane Richmond
Jane will be very well known to many of our riding members as our Senior Showjumping Team Trainer and one of our resident group training (Housewives) instructors. Jane is also a key member of the team organising our increasingly popular Fun Shows, giving up her time and money to deliver the Handy Pony courses (and other crazy Fun Show ideas!) More recently Jane has also been involved in supporting the Cafe. Jane is an amazing member of Solihull Riding Club and we are very fortunate to have her – thank you for all that you do, Jane!
Thank you to Committee members Katie Attenborrow and Lydia Joyce for organising these awards.
