Solihull Riding Club is celebrating a fantastic weekend of competition after being crowned National Champions at the British Riding Clubs Howden National Horse Trials Championships, held at Swalciffe Park Equestrian Centre.
Competing against some of the country’s strongest grassroots riding clubs, the Solihull Gold team delivered an outstanding performance in the highly competitive 70cm Championship class. The class attracted 24 Riding Club teams and 122 individual riders from across the UK, making the team’s victory even more impressive.
The Solihull Gold team secured the 70cm Team National Championship title with an excellent combined team score of 91.6.
The winning team comprised:
- Lily Squire riding Lake Edge Castle
- Sophie Yelloly riding Upsall’s Alter Ego
- Ellie Tyrell riding Secret Weapon II
- Frankie Shoebotham riding Caribbean Blue
Alongside the team success, Solihull Riding Club riders also enjoyed exceptional individual results, with three members each finishing as runners-up in their respective sections:
- 70cm Section A: Lily Squire & Lake Edge Castle – 2nd (29.5)
- 70cm Section B: Sophie Yelloly & Upsall’s Alter Ego – 2nd (29.8)
- 70cm Section C: Ellie Tyrell & Secret Weapon II – 2nd (32.3)
