On 13th and 14th June, Solihull Riding Club proudly hosted the first Cotswold Cup Qualifier of the year, welcoming riders from across the country for a fantastic weekend of competition.
Following some much-needed rain in the days leading up to the event, competitors were greeted with excellent ground conditions, widely praised throughout the weekend. A huge thank you goes to Mitch and the grounds team from SRC, whose hard work and dedication ensured the XC course was presented in outstanding condition.
The event attracted strong entries across all classes and showcased some excellent performances, with riders enjoying competitive sport in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Solihull Riding Club would like to thank all competitors for supporting the event and helping to make the weekend such a success.
As always, events of this scale would not be possible without our incredible team of volunteers. From fence judges and scorers to stewards and course builders, every volunteer played a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the event.

“Thank you for hosting a great One Day Event. All the volunteers were so friendly and helpful and it was a great course. It was such a fun event to take part in and the icing on the cake was to come home with some prize money – it definitely made the three-hour journey each way worth it.”

The team at Solihull Riding Club are already looking forward to its next event on 25th and 26th July, with entries now open through the Cotswold Cup website.
We are also looking for volunteers to help at this event, particularly cross-country fence judges. No experience is necessary, and volunteers will be well looked after with breakfast, lunch, plenty of cakes and refreshments throughout the day, as well as vouchers to use towards hire at Solihull Riding Club.
