Sunshine and Smiles for Solihull Riding Club’s First 608 Equine Vets Diddy One Day Event of 2026

The Bank Holiday Weekend kicked off in perfect style as Solihull Riding Club welcomed riders for the first 608 Equine Vets Diddy One Day Event of the 2026 series.

With sunshine overhead and a brilliant, supportive atmosphere throughout the day, riders were cheered on by families, friends, and supporters at every stage. It was especially lovely to see so many riders grow in confidence as the day went on – alongside plenty of happy ponies enjoying themselves too.

The Diddy series is designed for novice riders who may not yet feel ready to tackle a full cross-country course, which typically starts at 70cm. The format provides a friendly and encouraging introduction to eventing, with juniors able to receive assistance in the smaller 40cm and 50cm classes, and callers permitted for all riders during the dressage phase.

The show jumping phase featured a welcoming course of eight efforts, while the cross-country includes 14 newly built, inviting fences. Thoughtfully designed, the courses avoid anything technical or intimidating, running within two fields with an enjoyable stretch through woodland.

Riders also have plenty to aim for across the series, with the top 10 competitors in each class qualifying for the Championship Show in September.

The club is already looking forward to the next event and hopes to see many of these smiling faces again. The next Diddy One Day Event takes place on 6th June – be sure to get your entries in!
