Spooky spectacular – Halloween Fun Show 2025!

It’s fair to say Halloween came early at SRC and with 300 entries across the board, it must have been set in everyone’s diaries for some time!

The effort put into turning out the horses and riders was incredible – perfect for our Freakshow Fancy Dress, Terrifically Terrifying Tail, Menacing Mane and Gruesomely Glorious Golden Oldies competitions. The Club was filled with all family members, including their canine friends, ready for the Horse and Hound jumping, where the rider completes their showjumping round on horseback, then swaps their pony for their hound friend to attempt to complete the round on foot and paws together.

The infamous Halloween Handy Pony returned with more than 50 entries from the very best-behaved ponies being put to the test around Jane Richmond’s crazy course!

Meanwhile, in the main indoor the jumping continued from 30cm up to 70cm with riders and horses still in costume and high spirits. But the main event had to be the Hobby Horse Grand National! With three sections for different age groups, each jockey in different racing colours and commentary by the brilliant Ryan Searle – our health and safety expert – urging them round the mini steeplechase in true racing style it was the place to be.

Our beautiful Black Betty rosettes were well received along with prizes from Le Mieux and Heaven Sends, enough sweets to open a corner shop donated by Heather Lewis and Jane Richmond, and all the support from our sponsors below, we can’t thank you enough for making this Fun Show so successful.
